CNA TRAINING: HOW TO HAVE THE TRAINING FREE?

CNA stands for Certified Nurse Assistant. As the name implies, it works under the supervision of the nurse and the doctor. They are particularly valuable in the healthcare field. The CNA works by assisting patients with ADL’s (bathing, brushing, changing of clothes), take the vital signs, transporting patients and many more. The nursing assistant needs to be certified by the State Board of Nursing in order to become a CNA. CNA training is needed to complete before taking the CNA examination.

CNA training is offered in schools and clinical facility (Hospital, Nursing Homes and Rehabilitation centre). Some facilities offer a free CNA training. However, the applicant must agree to work with that facility in a certain period of time (depends on the offering facility) after passing the CNA exams. The training offered by the facility based training centre has some advantage. The hands-on training is done at the hospital setting providing the student an actual exposure to clinical experience. Having a clinical experience before the exam is a solid foundation for positive exam result.

There is CNA free training offered in online schools. However, you have to check the background of the school whether it is authorized by the government, and if it is acknowledge by the state, where you want work, to conduct the training.

Another way of having the training freely is to apply for CNA Scholarship Program. This program is funded by the government under the Department of Public Health. Full cost of training and even the CNA examination are being paid in this scholarship program.

It is necessary to check the CNA training facility and school you are planning to attend. Check with the State board of nursing if it is authorized to conduct the training. Verify also if the training is acknowledged by the state where you wish to work for.
